Sutter
Instrument introduces the Lambda LS-XL, a stable,
broad spectrum light source with an expected bulb life
in excess of 15,000 hours -- many times that of any
comparable light source. The output matches that of
300W arc lamps when new, and this intensity is
maintained throughout the life of the bulb with a loss
of only 20% expected. The Lambda LS-XL is
exceptionally stable, exhibiting fluctuations of
merely 1 % peak to peak.
Unlike
arc lamps, the Lambda LS-XL produces no highvoltage
pulse, and has no metal-to-glass seals or electrodes
to fail.
The
compact, stand-alone cabinet design contains the bulb,
lamp housing, power supply, and optics in a single
enclosure. The Lambda LS-XL can also accommodate a
Sutter filterwheel and SmartShutterTM
within the body of the lamp, making it the right
choice for fluorescence imaging applications. The
liquid light guide connection assures output
uniformity in the field of view. Mounting adapters for
Nikon, Olympus, Zeiss and Leica microscopes are
available.
