Sutter
Automated Microscope System (AMS) is an
inverted with a large array of automated features
including fast focus, dichoic changer, emission wheel
and objective turret. The AMS was designed to
be used with the Sutter Lambdas LS xenon lamp,
which incorporates the ability to automate excitation
filters and change neutral density and shutter light.
When used with the excitation wheel, the design can
incorporate the revolutionary Sutter ,SmartShutter.
A transmitted light version of AMS is also
available with a 35mm SmartShutter for
automated control of transmitted light.
The
45 degree dichroic wheel makes accurate and fast
dichroic changes
possible.
This "non-cube" design means there are fewer
degrees of freedom to produce registration errors and
low mass that allows for faster switching. The
emission filter wheel is integral to the scope and
placed in the infinity path. This design eliminates
non-linearities associated with an emission filter
wheel mounted outside the scope in the convergent
light path leading to the camera.
Finally,
the unit is capable of accepting a number of motorized
stages including the new 3-Dimensional Motorized
Stage (3DMS) from Sutter.
