Solution reservoir heating is an important
technique used to eliminate outgassing of
solutions prior to their entry to a heated
perfusion chamber. Since the gas load of a
solution is dependent on partial pressure and
temperature, preheating the solution at
atmospheric pressure before delivery to the
final heater will minimize the occurrence of
bubbles in the chamber's bath, even if the
solution is allowed to cool en route.
Solution reservoir heaters from Warner are
designed for applications where the use of a
large heated water bath is inconvenient, such as
a shared facility. The ability to independently
control each separate heater block allows the
researcher to control the initial temperature of
each solution without influencing other nearby
solutions.
The SW-60 accommodates a
single 60 cc syringe and its housing is made of
anodized aluminum which is both corrosion
resistant and serves as an excellent conductor
of heat. These heaters may be mounted on any 3/8
inch diameter lab rod or used with the PS-560
stand.
A TA-29 thermistor is
supplied for monitoring the temperature within
the syringe. A 60 cc syringe is not supplied
with this product. Syringes may be ordered
separately. The syringe warmer will fit a BD
size syringe. Additional useful accessories are
also available.
