This
chamber is designed for slice studies where solution
flow to both the top and bottom of the preparation is
desired. The slice rests on a support 0.5 mm
above the coverslip floor and is fixed in place by a
U-shaped hold down bar commonly termed a
"harp". Both support and harp use a fine
thread to hold the slice in place allowing maximum
access to the preparation. The large size bath and
special platform clamp design allow good access for
immersion optics and electrodes. |

Choise of Slice Hold-Down
Two
hold-down styles are avaible: a stainless steel
“harp” and a rectangular plastic frame. While the
weight of the metal harp holds the slice in place, the
plastic frame relies on a close apposition between
itself and the sidewalls of the bath. Hold-downs are
available with thread spacing of 1, 1.5 and 2mm. |
