Monitoring progress via the built-in 30X microscope, the EG-400 operator can easily achieve accurate grinding of microelectrodes/ micropipettes with tips as small as 1-30 microns.  With the pipette holder set to a selected angle, grinding is performed at various angles by manipulating the vertical coarse and fine coaxial knobs.  The EG400's special motor allows variable rotation speeds, minimizes vibration and keeps the whetstone rotating smoothly in the horizontal plane.  Power supply stability is further refined, and the unit conforms to European industry standards.
